Here is some demonstration about how to properly clean pneumatic nail guns.
1. Pneumatic tools require daily care to keep them in top shape. On a pneumatic nail gun, check the safety(figure A) and the trigger every day to make sure they are moving freely. Then, ensure all the screws are tightened. If the cap screws are loose, the tool will leak, which leads to tool inefficiency.
2. Another part of a pneumatic tool gun that requires daily maintenance, is the feed system. The feed system should be smooth all the way forward (figure B). For cleaning, wipe off the magazine or blow it out with air rather than using an oily lubricant. The lubricant actually attracts dirt and debris.
3. Squeeze 4-5 drops of pneumatic tool oil into the air fitting daily (figure C). If you use the tool all day, repeat the process half-way through the day. If you don't use the tool very often, just oil it when the tool is used.
4. If your tool has not been well-maintained, you may have to take it apart to replace parts (figure D).
